Blue Rose Excursion #2

My neighbourhood seems to have survived Thursday's typhoon quite well. 7-11 up the street had its windows shattered, but other than that I haven't seen too much damage on the buildings. And everything feels much cleaner now. (That feeling probably won't last long)

Why didn't Kaya do a performance like this last week?? He was brilliant today! He's a oneman-show most of the time, so it's important that he choses songs with as much interaction as possible when he puts together a setlist. Last week, he did not. So a lot of us ended up getting bored half way into his performance. Maybe someone told him about the bad choice of songs afterwards? Today there were no ballads, and all but one song had parts we could take part in ourselves.
He wore the white Node of Scherzo wedding dress for the first part of the live (been a while since I've seen that), holding a bouquet of white roses as the curtain was drawn. Which he proceeded to throw in my face. I had expected them to be fake flowers, but they were real roses, and smelled absolutely lovely ♥ For the session he changed into a kimono-inspired outfit. (There's a picture in his blog)

This was my first time seeing Adapter. I was already familiar with the bassist, RIU, but only through one of his other bands. So that was a fun surprise; I'd been wanting to see him live. The vocalist didn't seem used to having foreigners in the audience, so that was fun too x) Even if I didn't know any of their songs, I really enjoyed them (They had some ridiculous furi). And the vocalist is quite entertaining. He loves talking even more than Kaya, but he was so good at making us laugh that I didn't care. (He commented on having the same problem as Kaya sometimes: having 50 minutes of stage time and still only getting to perform three songs because they talk so much ^^; )

As with Kaya's twoman with Art Cube on the 2nd, both he and Adapter came out for an encore to perform eachothers songs together. But not until after telling us the story of how they decided to do an event together. Which consisted of Fukusuke (Adapter's vocalist) and Kaya going out bar hopping. Fukusuke wanted Kaya to take him to "his homeground", so naturally they ended up in Shinjuku (If you know anything about the place, you'll know why. Seems like Fukusuke attracted some quite unwanted attention during their night out.) While telling the story, they would stop a couple of times to sing a duet with matching lyrics.
Fukusuke had chosen the Kaya song they would sing together (based on songs he'd found on YouTube), which was "Glitter Arch". This meant there would be no "Rose Jail", but I didn't feel like getting elbowed in the head today, so that's ok. And he did "Addict" anyway, so I'm happy ^^
I don't know the name of any of Adapter's songs, but if any of you are fans and are familiar with their live performances: it was the song where they use their 'adabuta' towels.

Kaya's doing an unusual amount of lives this month, so his next one is already this coming Saturday. Let's hope it's as fun as today was ^o^ Today reminded me of what his lives used to be like a year ago. If he manages to keep it up, he'll probably regain a lot of his fans. (It was obvious how outnumbered we were by the Adapter fans at this live, but a lot of them took a liking to him.)
