Mar. 31st, 2010

Been a tiring week and a half... My family's been visiting Tokyo, which meant getting up early and pretty much walking around non-stop all day, every day. But it was a lot of fun too, and I hadn't seen them since last summer. Might post some pictures later, but they're not on my camera so that would have to wait until they send me some.

Got to visit DisneySea for the first time. Unfortunately this turned out to be the coldest day in weeks (Been a really cold spring in general, with snow even in March). Not much fun waiting for the bus for more than an hour to get home at night @_@ But I absolutely loved the place. And fortunately Mermaid Lagoon was all indoors so we could escape the rain when it arrived. It was probably my favourite among the different areas. It looked really neat, and was a complete labyrinth of various passages. There's a video here. (Not my video)

edit: Disney souvenirs

Does anyone know why this bear is so immensely popular? Is it just in Japan? I had never heard of him before, but he's called Duffy, and 4 out of 5 people were carrying at least one of him while walking around the park (Saw quite a few people with up to five bears).

Also went to a couple of THE VELVET lives...

Out of the two, I definitely enjoyed tonight's live the most. Mostly because of the setlist; I'm always hoping RIDE ON ME and Victor will be part of it, but last week they didn't even play Shiroi karasu which is the song they always end their set with :( It's a fun song as it has both headbanging and gyakudai parts (Only this one and Victor do). But tonight they did all three songs :D And as an intro to RIDE ON ME we also got a new guitar solo from Bera. I'm glad to see them continue adding solos like that as I'd hoped for earlier ^^

Both MiMi and Bera have new shoes now, and MiMi's got some new props, in the form of a female torso... Not sure if it's the kind that was originally used for modelling clothes in stores or what, he said he got it for free when someone was throwing it out. And it looks really awkward on stage, so I hope he'll get rid of it eventually ^^; (It reminds me of Loki's (ex-Sugar) old microphone stand if any of you saw that, except it looks a lot more out of place during a live performance)
Both of them have also been experimenting more with their hair lately. MiMi's currently sporting something I guess is best described as "mickey mouse ears"? to give you an idea of what it looks like. His hair is gathered in two small buns on top of his head, and suits him quite well. Bera seemed to have been using a curling iron today, with his bangs combed back (We can finally see both of his eyes!) And this week and last he's been wearing half a mask across his face.

I was surprised at the number of fans today. Granted we were only about 6~7, but usually only the jouren show up for lives at other livehouses than AREA (Today was Ruido K4). Last time we were also joined by risu_kami , which was nice :) (Sorry if we disappeared a bit abruptly; we had promised to meet someone by 7pm. Hope you enjoyed the live!) It's always fun having new foreign faces in front of Bera, and he looked happy too.

My vacation ends this Friday T_T It's been a fun couple of months.

now I really wish I could have stayed longer... just to see them live again.
and them having played all 3 of my favorite songs doesn't help either ^^;
Glad you had a good time.

and you've been successful in entertaining you parents all the time ?
Did you do any sightseeing or did you just make them go shopping with you ?

Next time! Considering how often they do lives, it was just really bad luck that you missed them this month. More likely than not they'll have at least one live the next time you're here ^o^ (It's not like with Art Cube, whom you're cursed to only see off stage, tired and make-upless x) )

I think the only sightseeing thing we did was going to the Imperial Palace, as they wanted to see it. Other than that we mainly just looked around in stores and stuff :3 We actually had more than enough things to do. Had to cancel a trip to the movies as there wasn't enough time (I appreciate having parents who like doing simple and fun stuff like that rather than a week of sightseeing, as I never had much interest in stuff like that)

hm let's hope so...
at least I'm already a step closer to see them off-stage. At least MiMi... but not makeupless, so maybe there still is some hope left ? ^.~

so lucky you that you seem to have that in common with your parents. nothing is worse than being forced to do (and pretend you enjoy it) things you think are boring .

I read there was supposed to be two things as well, but I haven't been able to spot a second item so far. Maybe he's saving it for a later occasion?
I now understand why people were staring so much at him carrying that torso thing home with him though, lol.

Of course he did... When he started biting that things neck, I couldn't really look at him without laughing any more. More attention for Bera from then on.

It was really funny with you on the first row. After the live of THE VELVET I bought the 2 CD´s and hoped that they will show up maybe for signing. And they did. As you said they seemed really happy, but I think Bera was looking up for you, because the whole time he stands at the merchandise desk he looked to the other fans and searched something. I think it was you 2.
Thanks for the great concert ^^

They came out after all? Usually they announce when they'll do that beforehand. And aww, Bera. That's really rare that he comes to the merch table. He hasn't done that for a year. Did you get to talk to them?

Glad you enjoyed it :)

Yeah, after the next band Bera came out and stand there for a long time. I think he was very surprised when I ask him for signing the cd I bought a few minutes before and the staff girl had to lough. But he seemed a little bit shy. And after the next band MiMi also came out. But also shy and happy to sign. I´m really sorry that you couldn´t talk to them.
The next time for sure. :)

Yeah, they're both pretty shy. Bera not so much around me and mrs_fujiwara anymore, but MiMi definitely is.
I can always meet them later (MiMi comes to the merch table fairly often), so I'm glad you got the chance for them to sign your CDs during your short stay :)

I'm not normally a Disney fan, but I love DisneySea! We went there Christmas 2008 and I really enjoyed it, even though it was freezing cold. Everything is so detailed and nicely done. My favourite was the Indiana Jones ride.

I really liked the Indiana Jones ride too! Even though we had to wait in line for 2 & 1/2 hours... (They were out of fast passes by the time we got there).

I noticed how detailed everything was as well. Would love to go back with you and the rest of the girls some day :)

I don't know if I have enough time in July, the only available weekend day is the 18th, but I'd love to go back too!
