Just got home from Saitama and the opening of Moi dix Mois + Közi coupling tour Deep Sanctuary II.

The live house was pretty tiny. Which in many ways is nice, because no matter where you stand, the different band members aren't too far away. The bad thing about the venue though, was the barrier between the audience and the stage. It was quite short, so it ended up being around hip-height rather than in our waists. And that is extremely painful for a Moi dix Mois live; we were lying forwards supporting ourselves on the stage a lot of the time.

Közi was the first one to perform. Looked like Charge (drums) had taken part in another live as well the same day? While we were waiting outside the venue after the bands were done with their rehearsals, he suddenly arrived in a taxi and ran past us, inside. Everyone including himself laughing, because it looked so silly ^^;
First of all; Közi was great! As always. But some of his fans.... I was in the center of the front row, seeing as that's where Seth would appear later on. Közi's fans also had priority tickets, so I was surrounded by them. And people behind me started climing on top of me to reach the man :/ His set ended up being far more uncomfortable than M10M. But he played a lot of my favourite songs of his + a new one :D And the Közi fans on either side of me were awesome. One of them was in full cosplay, and had even shaved one side of her head to look like him.

Charge was being silly in the back everytime Közi left to go to one of the sides, so that was lots of fun. Masashi is in Europe with Versailles at the moment, so he'll only be joining the tour later on. The temporary bassist for tonight was introduced as "kurokosugi", and had the black bag over his head that he always uses when his identity is supposed to be secret... It's pretty obvious that it's Sugiya x)

After half an hour's break, Moi dix Mois finally walked out on stage. During the first song, the pushing was as bad as for Közi, but Seth noticed, made a comment on how it looked like the people in the front were having their bones crushed and asked if everyone else could please step back a bit. And it really worked; until the encore, at least us in the center area were fairly comfortable. And he asked us again if everyone was ok.

The most important announcement of the night was probably the details of the forthcoming album. It'll be released in December, and the title is D+SECT. Seth explained how the D meant "dix", but said he'd tell us what the rest of the word meant at other lives...

He also presented the new tote bag they're selling (by putting it around his arm, and walking around with it. Even Mana laughed - It's kinda girly).

I already knew they would play Dead Scape, as we could hear their rehearsal quite well from outside the building earlier. I love that song. Everyone look so happy when it's being played, both band and fans. And I really enjoy Sugiya's solo, when he finally comes to the front of the stage. I think the crowd did very well in showing him their love tonight ^^ He looked a little surprised.

For the encore, everyone changed into the new Deep Sanctuary II T-shirts, and they were joined on stage by Közi. He came out on stage together with Mana, who had his arms on his shoulders, and was jumping in on stage rather than walking, lol. They all played Deus Ex Machina, and Mana put his white Jeune Fille around Közi and let him play on it for most of the song. I wished they'd done a second encore, cause it was really enjoyable :) But they'll probably play a longer set at the live in Tokyo with Yu~ki.

I also saw Art Cube this Friday.

Their set was shorter this time:
1. 花陽影 (hanahikage)
2. 失楽蝶 (shitsurakuchou)
3. False Praye(r)
4. Soaring awakening

I was hoping for Pain Wing and Kougekyou, but was happy with the last two songs as they're of the more violent kind too. And I absolutely love Hanahikage (^^)

Shizuki's birthday went by in silence. It hit me afterwards that we should have written a note or something which we could have showed him from where we were standing, but oh well.. Maybe next year, or if they end up doing lives on any of the other guys' birthdays.

And don't think I have much more to say about them, as everything went fine (one of the few lives without trouble). They've had lives every single week for a while now, and therefore didn't have anything new to announce either. Now some of the members will finally be able to take a break until July 30th. Shizuki is still playing with DANI and probably some other bands. And Seiji's touring the country with Moi dix Mois. But he'll return to the role of Zeta for one day in a week and a half; at Kaya's second Bonjour Chanson event :)

We also got to see Primeaddict for the billionth time @.@; They keep appearing with AC and Velvet. Thankfully they're good, and their songs are fun. They have this cute little rabbit thing called P-chan that teaches people the furi.

Oh, Kozi's fans also have priority tickets? Well, I guess it's only fair. I really look forward to the tour.

Have the Art Cube fans started to come back?

We entered in this order: FC (international fc members; only 3 at this live) -> M+K -> A tickets -> B tickets.
M+K seemed to include people who got their tickets through Közi. I'm sure Közi himself appreciated having some familiar faces in the front too, and most of them left the front area as soon as he was done playing, so the M10M fans could move forwards.

The Art Cube fans who left haven't returned, but some new people started coming :) We're still not able to fill up the front row at most lives, but at least there's a steady group of people who keep supporting them.

It was really great, wasn't it?
And you were gorgeous for DS! But that's not news.
I am sad we'll only be together for the Tokyo live though.
And I am already fearing the Közi fans. I remember the screams in my ears and the climbing from the Tokyo live last year.
But at least they are all very nice!

Looking forward to Seiji's live with Kaya as well.

I'm glad it wasn't too hot, so we managed to keep looking fairly decent until getting into the venue at least... We probably won't be that lucky on the 17th D: (Help me remember that we need to stop by jishuban that day. I fear I'll forget among all the other things).

Maybe you'd be able to stand together with Sawako, Megu and Mika for those other lives? That'd be nice.

It would be fun if the Chanson live was like last time: a play! They acted out a story at the event last year. (Most of the story took place at a cafe, and on the menu there was "Kamijo wine", lol). It would be interesting seeing Seji participate in something like that.

thank you so much for the review, I'm very happy I could finally found one! ^^
I loved to imagine the part where Mana laughs at Seth
that was so funny in my mind xD

I wish I could go!u.u

one question: so..Yu~ki will only appear in the 17th?
Jul. 4th, 2010 03:44 am (UTC)
Mana also laughed when Közi was standing next to Seth and commenting on how tall everyone else was compared to himself. Seth looked happy and blatantly ignored the repeated shouts from the audience about him cheating with those giant boots. He's so small ^^;

Yes, Yu~ki will be the special guest on the 17th :) Looks like a lot of people will be coming to that live, in the hopes they'll play some Malice Mizer stuff. (Yesterday, though they didn't play any of the music, there were MM pictures on stage)
Jul. 4th, 2010 10:33 pm (UTC)
ouh! I'd love to see that!! >.<
how was MdM dressed? like the new pic in Mana´s blog??
Jul. 5th, 2010 10:45 am (UTC)
The costumes were a bit different from the picture on Mana's blog. Basically the same look though. I think the main differences I noticed were Seth wearing one of the Moitie gilets, with an added red trim down the front, and Hayato was wearing a bowlerish hat that looked very out of place... Mana appeared in short pants and fishnets instead of his usual long black pants.

Ahhh!! Kozi new song? >_<; Please...please.... a release soon, man.

Nicce, Charge. Somehow that is so easy to picture. XD

Dear lord, I hope that this stays a tradition with Mana and Kozi~ Next year in Japan, me at Deep Sanctuary. Please?

Oh, I can not say how much I wish I could see Kaya's Chanson event! Especially with him there... I'll just not think about it, how's that? Haha...
Jul. 4th, 2010 09:40 am (UTC)
Well, it's a good sign that they're able to do so many lives on the tour this year :) Compared to last year's two lives. So if Közi wants to, I'm sure Mana wouldn't mind doing a Deep Sanctuary III.
I'd love to see Yu~ki continuing with music after this event, but I wouldn't be surprised if he completely disappeared again either...

Thank you so much for the report, I really enjoyed reading it !
I'm so glad they seem to be enjoying themselves so much
and thank you for the further details in the comments <3 !
Jul. 4th, 2010 09:49 am (UTC)
I think the Moi dix Mois lives in general have been more fun and enjoyable this past year and a half. The band members seem more open and smiley. And Mana's being really cute whenever he's with Közi on stage :) (more like his MM persona?)

I don't really write proper reports, hence the lack of details etc. It's mostly to help me remember the various events I go to (especially when bands I follow do lives every week). But if you have any questions about anything in particular, I'd be happy to try and answer with more info.
