レム主催 「池袋ノンフヰクション」 @ 池袋CYBER

No time to write about yesterday's live until now. I've barely been home for the past two days, except to sleep for a few hours. Had to travel out to Togane early yesterday morning, and there wasn't any time to return home, so we went straight to Ikebukuro to see THE VELVET at CYBER in the afternoon.

Although it's been a year and a half by now, I saw Kaya at this venue once before, so we didn't get lost trying to find it this time ^^; I rarely go to Ikebukuro.

It was an event sponsored by Lem. I've seen them play with Velvet (and Art Cube?) before, and enjoy their lives. So it's too bad they'll be disbanding soon. I was at the live last month where they announced they will be doing their last live on September 2nd, and felt really bad for their fans. The fans I've talked to are all really nice people, and they were obviously devastated at the news :/

With the heat and humidity, there's a lot of creepy crawlies around here lately. And yesterday, the livehouse was crawling with bugs D: ugh. Complete panic ensued when a huge cockroach suddenly came scuttering across the floor D: A brave Lem regular managed to kill it with a bunch of band flyers. And the one guy there (the person working in the drink bar) helped us get rid of other stuff. But it was pretty nasty considering we're supposed to sit on that floor (Cyber doesn't really have a proper "floor"; it's concrete ground, with holes and cracks).
There was a lot of screaming at the sight of the roach... Wonder what the bands backstage were thinking.

THE VELVET was band number four. The setlist was a lot more violent than usual this time:
1. new song
2. 白いカラスは眠れない (shiroi karasu wa nemurenai)
3. 静寂は凶暴 (seijaku wa kyoubou)
4. Plastic Doll
5. 愛憎倒錯遊戯 (aizou tousaku yuugi)
6. Victor

With the choice of songs, the live felt really different from the earlier ones. Surprised at hearing shiroi karasu as the second song, but as I mentioned in the entry on Plastic Doll recently, I love the violent songs, so it was lots of fun :) But it's slightly awkward headbanging a lot when the stage is so low (below hip level). Have to place or hands on something, and combined with the lack of bar between us and the stage, there's a much bigger risk of getting stepped on. Didn't happen this time though. But proper gyakudai were impossible.

The guys looked a little different. Instead of the clock, MiMi was wearing a bunny bjd around his neck (Same one there's a picture of in the Plastic Doll booklet). His hair was shaped into... bunny ears to match it? I don't know... That's what it looked like. Chiro had cut his wig. It looks a bit less out of place now that it's shorter (He should just appear with his own hair. He looks good without the wig). And thanks to Bera changing sides during one of the songs, he came over to the right side of the stage again, being all smiley :D

A friend of mine bought a couple of their singles at the goods table, so if anyone's wondering what Plastic Doll's privilege is for buying it there; it's a photocard with the two members. (Haven't seen it announced anywhere, like the other privileges).

Art Cube are finally having another live tomorrow. And it's at Takadanobaba AREA, so it couldn't be more perfect ^^
A couple of people who thought they wouldn't be able to come, will be there after all, so I'm really looking forward to enjoying the live with them :)
