Went to Urawa, Saitama yesterday to follow THE VELVET's "tour", as they called it. (First live outside Tokyo since MiMi went from bass to vocals). A bit further away than usual, but in return they played a lot of songs. I also got the chance to see Mu☆Mu, lol. Though not exactly the type of music I tend to like, I'd been wanting to see him simply because he seemed like fun. And he was, even though it felt like a really awkward karaoke session, as it's just him doing furi by himself with a laptop next to him to steer the music etc. (And there was the mandatory computer problems with music stopping suddenly and the pointer not working). But I had fun, and the fact that he's all dressed up in polkadots and called MuMu made me laugh....
After sitting through the five first bands, it was finally time for Velvet.
And thankfully they played both a large amount of songs, and several older songs. (Although the new songs are good too, there's been too many of them lately)
I'm still enjoying seijaku a lot. I hope it'll be on the forthcoming release. And the new song (called "sorrow" for now), has sakudai parts :D That's fun! And it's the first of their songs where we can do that. Hopefully they'll give us some time to get used to these new songs now, before introducing more of them. Of course I'm happy to hear more music from them, but one or two at a time is fine.
I hadn't been at Narciss for more than a year, and forgot how bad some of the things there are. (omg, the toilet...). The speakers at the sides of the stage are turned inwards, towards the center. Which meant I had one of them turned straight at my face/right ear. Somewhat messed up the sound, as well as leaving me deaf for the following couple of hours. Even when one of the guys made quite an obvious mistake, I couldn't hear it because of this, so I don't think I can comment much on how they did musically....
Next live isn't until the end of October :/ I'll miss them. Looks like October will be pretty empty in general live-wise. But I'll have lots of other stuff to keep me busy, so it's probably good not having to worry about making room for these events on top of it.
chiro happened to walk past us outside the livehouse before the doors opened, without the wig and make-up. He looks so different, but good. It'd be fun if he one day showed up on stage like that (No one would recognize him unless they actually know what he looks like under that stuff)
Not related, but outside Urawa station, there was this:
