The first session:
I don't know how to read the names of all the different session members, but vocals was Megaromania's drummer, Yushi. Their session was an X Japan cover band; Yushi being dressed as Toshi, while Pinky from Ninjaman Japan did a fairly good Yoshiki impression. After the end of the last song, "Longing" started blaring out through the speakers, and the two guys started doing a parody of the two X members, hugging and being very dramatic.
Megaro bassist Hyoga's followed, with this line-up:
I had completely forgotten Gallo vocalist Jojo would be there. This was the first time I saw him on stage without him ending the set with smearing chocolate all over his face. He's an interesting guy.
As the band entered the stage, we heard the theme song to Mononoke Hime. Hyoga was the title character, while the others were dressed as various animals... Though not quite true to the movie, since they'd opted for kigurumi, and therefore we had a Stitch, a Chip, a Rilakkuma and a panda. And Mononoke Hime's necklace was made of colourful plastic clothespins, lol. On guitar was the adorable Rio from Secilia Luna, and they ended their set with a song from her band.
Third was Megaro vocalist Sui and co:
Every time I see Sui he looks less and less like the pink-haired vocalist from Metis Gretel. He's turned into quite a handsome man now.
I wasn't familiar with any of the songs they did, but enjoyed it nevertheless. They were all dressed in yukata.
Fourth was the session we had waited for; guitarist Misary:
As the curtain opened, the all too familiar sound of this surrounded us. We looked at eachother in disbelief and mouthed "omg, he's gonna come on stage wearing a girl's school uniform D: " And sure enough, this appeared in front of us, lol:
Shizuki is even less feminine than Seiji, so this was just weird:
^complete with hairclip
But they made fun of themselves and the way they looked, saying they probably didn't look very cute x)
Seiji was as classy as always, lifting up his skirt several times, telling us "These are my panties!"......... thanks Seiji....
Don't know what their first song was, but the second one was shitsurakuchou, and the third was a Megaromania song. I spent quite a bit of the set trying to avoid looking up Seiji's very short skirt, as he kept lifting his legs, putting one leg on the box right in front of me, lol. As did the other Art Cube fans. Must have looked silly with the four of us constantly turning our heads in every other direction.
It was a rare occasion, costume wise, so here are a few more silly pictures.
To our surprise, both Seiji and Shizuki came out to the goodstable after the live, talking to fans. Seiji can't be serious, so he climbed up on a chair and started shouting he was selling pictures of himself, while waving at people and joking around.
Didn't stay to watch the rest of the live, but went and enjoyed food and a talk with friends instead :)
Art Cube's next live is July 17th, in Shinjuku, where some of us will be receiving a personal comment CD and sign board. I wonder what they're planning on saying to me on that CD.... It's kinda embarrassing ^^;
And finally we got a little more info concerning the upcoming release of the Art Cube x VII-Sense coupling single;
First of all the release has been postponed to July 13th. And if you're in Tokyo this month, you might want to purchase the single at Brand X in Ikebukuro. Seiji and Shizuki, as well as Juka, erina and KAZ from VII-Sense will take part in an instore event there on July 24th. They will first do a Talk part, followed by Handshake. (I kinda wish we could choose which men to go talk to.... I wouldn't know what on earth to say to erina and KAZ ^^; And I'm guessing their fans will feel equally awkward with the guys from Art Cube.)
